Storm surges

In the event of a large storm and sea-level rise the Chignecto Isthmus would flood over the protective dikes along the coast at the border of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. This map shows where flooding could happen in a one-in-50 year storm. Click the slider below to see the shift between current normal conditions and the storm. The orange areas on the map show where the water would rise.

Sea level rise predictions have uncertainties, and information on this map should be corrected and verified before being used in decision making. A one-in-50 year storm raises the water to 8.57 metres above sea level.
